New CD on the horizon!

September 02, 2020

We're in final stages of making "Earth Voices," to be released in January 2021. I am so proud of this recording and can't wait to share it with the world.

It's a follow up to my Juno-Nominated "Words" project and also features poems set to music, including Walt Whitman, Rumi, Edgar Allan poe, as well as my arrangements of songs by Joni Mitchell, Yo Yo Ma, and Luciana Souza.

I love the 17 amazing artists who played & sung their hearts out:

- Emilie-Claire Barlow (voice)
- Robin Dann (voice)
- Michelle Willis (voice)
- Alex Samaras (voice)
- Laila Biali (voice)
- Lydia Persaud (voice)
- Felicity Williams (voice)
- Allison Au (alto sax)
- Kelly Jefferson (soprano sax)
- Alex Goodman (guitar)
- Amanda Tosoff (piano)
- Jon Maharaj (bass)
- Morgan Childs (drums)
- Aline Homzy (violin)
- Jeremy Potts (violin)
- Laurence Schaufele (viola)
- Beth Silver (cello)

...phew... what a gang!

Music Arts Collective

I've launched an online education and arts "hub" with the award winning bassist/composer Jodi Proznick (who is also my old friend going back to even my high-school days!). Arts manager Francesca Fung, formerly of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Festival Vancouver, is keeping everything together as we develop online courses, workshops, YouTube videos and a podcast, as well as some exciting musical collaborations.

Check out more about us at www.musicartscollective.ca

Stay tuned for some pretty fantastic content coming your way!

This week's 'Monday Musings" Spotify Playlist

July 28, 2020

"Monday Musings" is my weekly playlist of my favourite beautiful and thought-provoking songs that cross stylistic boundaries: jazz, singer-songwriter, poetry, Canadian, and everything in between. This week features my favourite jazz artists from the West Coast of Canada, many whom were mentors and huge influences on me as a young BC musician. Check these beautiful musicians out!
